Is There Only One God? Part 1

If you believe that The Holy Bible is God’s Word and that all of it is true, then yes, there is only one God. Can I prove it, yes! Let’s look at The Bible:

Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

There is only one true God being referenced.

Deuteronomy 6:4 states, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.”

In Solomon’s prayer of dedication for the Temple, he prays,

“that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no other.” 1 Kings 8:60

Even the children of Israel doubted who God is.  They lost trust in God and in turn created their own gods to worship. God challenged these gods and was victorious.

“I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.”  Isaiah 45:5

The first of the Ten Commandments that God gave Moses is:

“You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3

Bruce Ware in his book, “Big Truths for Young Hearts” states,

Some religions believe in many gods (like Hinduism and Mormonism), and others believe in only one God (as in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity).

Who is the one true God?  The only ONE who inspired the scriptures in The Holy Bible, God the Father.  Our children will hear about many different religious beliefs in their lifetime: in school, books, TV, friends, etc.  Our children need to know these truths.  Help your children memorize these scriptures, so when they are challenged by others, they will be ready with the

“sword of the spirit, which is the word of God,”  see Ephesians 6: 10-17

Next, we will look at the gods (or idols) we may be worshiping today.
